Specialised Hand Therapy
At East Midlands Hand Therapy, we specialise in all aspects of hand therapy treatment including;
- Diagnosis and treatment of hand and wrist conditions, including carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, dupuytrens, DeQuervains, arthritis and tendonosis.
- Management of traumatic hand injuries such as wrist sprains and strains, finger dislocations. tendon injuries and fractures.
- Rehabilitation following elective hand surgery.
- Rehabilitation following surgical repair, reconstruction or fixation of hand injuries.
Our team of experts provides personalised care to help you achieve optimal hand function.
You will receive a comprehensive assessment, and through a process of shared decision making establish a tailored treatment programme. This may include the provision of ‘off the shelf’ splints, bespoke thermoplastic splints, exercises, scar management, oedema management, task modification and joint protection advice and pain management advice.

Splints
You may be offered a splint as part of your hand therapy treatment. This could be ‘off the shelf’ or a bespoke custom made splint, the costs of these vary, and unfortunately are often not covered by insurance companies.
Estimated costs are:
- ‘Off the shelf’ wrist or thumb splint £15-25
- Bespoke finger splint £15
- Bespoke hand-based splint £25-35
- Bespoke wrist splint £35-65
- Bespoke wrist and thumb (forearm-based splint) £45-65
- Bespoke forearm and above elbow splint £65-85
Please check the policy details relating to splints with your own insurance company. Where this is not covered by the insurance provider, patients will be responsible for these costs themselves.
